Simple Microwave Meals In 10 Minutes Or Less


If you are looking to improve on your cooking skills, a refresher course in the basics can be a great investment of your time.  But if you are too busy for that, the following tips can help you get back to some cooking basics that you may have forgotten or overlooked.

If you are getting frustrated because the herbs are flying all over the place and landing on the floor when you are chopping them up, try tossing a little salt onto your cutting board.  This will make for a coarser surface, and keep the small pieces from moving around the board too much.When you're finished with the wine, don't discard the wine cork.  For safety, you can use a no longer needed wine cork on the end of a sharp knife before you put it away in your kitchen drawer.  This will prevent anyone in your household from getting unnecessarily cut when reaching for it.

Remove baked on food from your dishes easily. Scrape off any loose food, put a little dishwasher detergent or dishwashing soap in the dish and add boiling water. Stir the solution and leave overnight. In the morning, the baked on food will have been lifted off the dish. This is particularly effective on a glass baking dish.

Cook a hard boiled egg properly. It is very simple to cook the perfect hard boiled egg if you follow these simple instructions. Pierce the raw egg at its rounded end,where there is a little air space. This will make the egg easier to peel. Lower the egg into hot water and bring to a boil. Cook for 10 minutes at a gentle boil. When they are done, drain the water and shake the pan. This will crack the egg shells. Fill with cold water, and allow to stand until the eggs are completely cold.
